Two Huskies Make Preseason All-PSAC Team

BLOOMSBURG-Sophomore running back Derrick Price (Burlington, NJ/Burlington City) and senior defensive end Alphonso Nathan (Philadelphia/Milton Hershey) represent Bloomsburg University on the 2009 Preseason All-PSAC Team, released on August 16.

Price burst onto the scene a year ago, leading the Huskies in rushing with a Bloomsburg freshman record 1,279 yards, while adding seven touchdowns on the ground. He was named PSAC East Rookie of the Year in addition to garnering first team All-PSAC East honors. Price rushed for at least 100 yards seven times in 2008, including a career-high 186 yards against Mercyhurst.

Nathan started all 13 games a year ago and was named second team All-PSAC East. He totaled 34 tackles and tied for fourth on the team with five tackles-for-loss. He had a career-high five tackles against both C.W. Post and Millersville.

The Huskies open up the 2009 season on Thursday, August 27 against nationally ranked Ashland starting at 6 p.m. It will be the first official night game at Redman Stadium. The following week the Huskies hit the road for a game against PSAC West foe California.
