Bloomsburg's Bosso, Ochs Named Honorable Mention All-American
BLOOMSBURG -Bloomsburg University football players Matt Bosso (Camp Hill/Camp Hill) and Jon Ochs (Wind Gap/ Nazareth) have been named Honorable Mention All-Americans by D2Football.com.
The D2Football.com All-America Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from coaches and sports information directors from around the country.
The honor is honor is the latest for Ochs, who adds to a list of postseason honors including: 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America; first team All-PSAC East; Daktronics Division II All-Super One Regional team first team; finalist for the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award and a Cactus Bowl selection, the Division II senior all-star game. Ochs was recently named to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top 10 team.
As a player, Ochs led the entire PSAC in sacks with eight and tied for second in tackles for loss with 17.5. He finished 49 tackles, 35 of them solo, and forced five fumbles and recovered one other. Ochs is a first year graduate student studying Business Administration and has a GPA of 3.89 at Bloomsburg and 4.0 as a graduate student.
Bosso is a two-time first team All-PSAC East selection and, like Ochs, was named to the Daktronics Division II All-Super One Regional first team. He anchored a Huskies running attack that rushed for more than 266 yards per game, and was part of an offensive line that allowed just 17 sacks in 12 games. He also blocked for an offensive unit that had two freshman backs rush for more than 2,200 yards and had five different players rush for more than 100 yards in a game.
Bloomsburg finished the year with an 11-2 record and advanced to the NCAA Division II regional finals for the second time in three years.
