Brittingham Named Offensive Player of the Week
BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University football standout Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Bloomsburg's 42-28 win over C.W. Post this past Saturday.
In the win, Brittingham had a record setting day. First, he rushed for five touchdowns and also had a pair of two-point conversion runs. Three of Brittingham's touchdown rushes came from two yards out, while two more touchdowns came from six and five yards out, respectively. With 34 points scored, Brittingham broke the school record for most points in a game and also tied the school high for rushing touchdowns in a game.
Brittingham also shattered several PSAC records on the day. He became the league's all-time leader in points with 408 and rushing touchdowns with 65. He ended the day rushing for 81 yards on 22 carries. This is the sixth time in Brittingham's career he has been named the PSAC East Player of the Week and the first since the 2005 season.
Bloomsburg returns to action on Saturday when they visit California (Pa.). Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
