Latorre and Trettin Named PSAC East Players of the Week

BLOOMSBURG-Bloomsburg University football players Dan Latorre (Elysburg/ Southern Columbia) and Tyler Trettin (Hummelstown/ Hershey) have been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Players of the Week for the period ending October 7th. Lattore, a freshman quarterback, was named Offensive Player of the Week, while Trettin, a senior defensive back, was named Defensive Player of the Week. Lattore shares the award with East Stroudsburg's Jimmy Terwilliger.
Against PSAC East rival West Chester, Lattore threw for a career-high 273 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Huskies to a 30-27 win. His scoring strikes came from 70 and 57 yards out. He also rushed for 17 yards, including a nine-yard score that put the Huskies up 17-3 at the half. For the season, Latorre has thrown for 1,049 yards and six touchdowns and has added two rushing touchdowns.
Trettin led the Husky defense with seven tackles, including five solos and also had an interception against West Chester. His interception set up a long scoring drive that was capped off by Latorre's nine-yard run. For the season, Trettin ranks second on the Huskies with 35 tackles and first on team with two interceptions.
The Huskies, 5-1, 1-0 in the PSAC East, will host Kutztown this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
