Bloomsburg Football Ranked in Top Ten in National Polls

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University football team moved up in both the poll and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches poll for the second consecutive week. The Huskies move from 10th to ninth in the poll and from 12th to 10th in the AFCA coaches poll.

Bloomsburg improved their position in both polls after a 28-10 comeback victory at Edinboro this past Saturday. The win marked the second straight week the Huskies used a 21-point rally in the fourth quarter to win a contest over a nationally ranked opponent. Bloomsburg was led by junior running back Jamar Brittingham (Levittown/Neshaminy) who scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter and junior defensive back Marcus Waddy (Philadelphia/Frankford) who ended the game with six tackles (five of which were solo), an interception and a sack that forced an Edinboro turnover. For his efforts, Waddy was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending September 17th.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Saturday when they host Clarion at 12:00 noon.
