BLOOMSBURG- Bloomsburg University junior wide receiver Brahin Bilal (Philadelphia/ Lincoln) has been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Offense Player of the Week for his performance in the Huskies 45-37 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
Bilal torched the East Stroudsburg defense for 289 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns to help the Huskies clinch a share of the PSAC East title. His two receptions covered 79 and 57 yards, and both went for touchdowns. However, his biggest impact came following an East Stroudsburg touchdown near the end of the first half, when he returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and gave Bloomsburg a two-touchdown lead heading into halftime. With two catches and four kickoff returns, he averaged 48.1 yards every time he touched the ball.
For the season, Bilal leads the Huskies in receiving yards (819) and touchdown receptions (9). He is averaging 23.4 yards per catch and 81.9 yards per game.
Bloomsburg (9-1, 5-0 PSAC East) will wrap up the regular season when they visit Cheyney on Saturday at 1 p.m.
