Bloomsburg University Baseball Drops Pair

BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Millersville on Saturday by scores of 6-2 and 11-5. The games were the first to be played at the newly renovated Litwhiler Field.
In game one Millersville pitcher Forrest Mengle allowed just five hits in beating the Huskies 5-2. Bloomsburg's two runs came in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run homer from Nick Ferdinand (Bensalem/Archbishop Ryan) with Cory Eisenhart (York/Dover) scoring in front of Ferdinand.
In game two, Mike Austin (Dallastown/Dallastown) went 3-4 while scoring two runs and driving in one run to lead the Huskies. Tony Donofry (Newtown/Council Rock North) also drove in one run with an RBI double, but Millersville's Mike Gallagher broke open the game in the third inning with a grand slam to give the Marauders a 10-3 lead in the game.
Bloomsburg falls to 11-12, 3-5 in the PSAC East, while Millersville improves to 12-13, 3-5 in the PSAC East.
