Austin Leads Huskies Past Benedict College
COLUMBIA, SC-- Mike Austin (Dallastown/Dallastown) went 3-4, scored three runs and drove in three runs to lead the Bloomsburg University baseball team to a 20-11 win over Benedict College on Tuesday.
Austin had two singles and a double in the game, while Jarrod Kramer (Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) went 2-5 and drove in four runs as the Huskies picked up the easy win.
Bloomsburg scored three times in the first, added a run in the second and then three more in the third to lead 7-0. The Huskies led 17-2 after five and a half innings, only to see the home team score nine times to make it a 17-11 game. Bloomsburg, though, got three back in the top of the ninth with Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim Twp) driving in one run with a ground out, while Austin had an RBI single and Kramer a sacrifice fly. Chris Carter (Bartonsville/Pocono Mountain East) went the first five innings to earn the win, while Seth Pauling (Allenwood/Montgomery) picked up a three-inning save.
Bloomsburg is 4-4 on the year.
