BLOOMSBURG-- Bloomsburg University baseball players Vinnie James (Bristol/ Bristol) and Kevin Ward (Upper Darby/ Monsignor Bonner) have been named to the All- Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Baseball team. James was named to the first-team, while Ward was named to the second team.

James, a senior catcher, was one of the most dangerous hitters in the league in 2007 setting career highs in several offensive categories. James ranked third in the PSAC in batting, (.413), second in home runs (7), second in hits (64) and second in total bases (101). He also finished with a team-leading 12 doubles, 40 RBI, and a .656 slugging percentage. During the week ending April 16, James was named PSAC East Player of the Week after batting .500 (11-22) with three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored. James finished his career at Bloomsburg with a .348 average, 10 home runs, and 94 RBI. His 94 RBI and 152 career hits each ranked 10th all-time in school history.

Ward, a sophomore first baseman, was a staple in the middle of the Huskies lineup in 2007. Ward established career highs in batting average (.375), hits (54), runs (34) and RBI (40). He also ranked second on the team in batting average, RBI, and home runs (3). During the last week of the season, with Huskies battling for a playoff spot, Ward batted .588 (10-17) with a 1.000 slugging percentage, four doubles, one home run and 11 runs scored to lead Bloomsburg to a 6-0 week. Ward's spectacular effort fell just short as the Huskies lost out on a tiebreaker to East Stroudsburg for the final PSAC Playoff spot. In just two seasons, Ward is batting .350 with nine home runs and 66 RBI.

Bloomsburg finished the season with a record of 19-26, 9-11 in the PSAC East. The 19 wins were the most for Bloomsburg since the 2002 season, when the Huskies won 24 games.
