BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania will present a lecture by Allen Lane Sr, Ph.D., titled, “Mentoring Young Black Men in High Concentration of Poverty Urban Communities” on Wednesday, April 25, at 6 p.m. in Kehr Union Building, multipurpose room A.
Lane holds a doctorate in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on mentoring young African American males in high concentration of poverty urban communities. Lane also works with the Homewood Children’s Village, a Pittsburgh based organization dedicated to supporting the needs of youth and families in one of the most dangerous communities in the country. His lecture focuses on his work in Homewood and the impact that mentoring has on young men in communities like Homewood.
