BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University’s Council of Trustees granted eight BU retirees Emeritus Status at the Dec. 6 quarterly meeting.
Professors granted Faculty Emeritus Status include Mary Ann Cegielsky, from the Department of Nursing, Margie Eckroth-Bucher, Department of Nursing, Sheila Kaercher, Department of Exercise Science, Charles Starkey, Department of Teaching and Learning and Bruce Wilcox, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Trustees also granted Brenda Cromley, Office of the President, Manager and Administrative Emeritus Status, Paul Payne, Head Coach for men’s soccer, Athletic Coach Emeritus Status and Carol Kliamovich, Department of Exercise Science, Non-Instructional Emeritus Status.
Also during the meeting, the Trustees:
- Approved the review of negotiated or awarded contracts/purchases in amounts less than $10,000 to the vice president of administration and finance for annual renewal.
- Approved resolution certifying the Bloomsburg University Foundation’s, Community Government Association, Inc.’s and Husky Research Corporation, Inc.’s compliance with Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education and Board of Governors’ policies.
- Approved the university purchase of 1099 Lightstreet Road 3.6 acre property from the Bloomsburg University Foundation. The property will provide direct frontage access to Lightstreet Road via the existing university 64-acre parcel.
- Approved the following schedule for quarterly meetings, all Wednesdays: March 7, June 13, Sept. 19, Dec. 5, 2018, and March 6 and June 12, 2019.
