BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Julie Petry, associate professor of theatre and dance, has work on display at the event, “Cradling Creativity: The Art of Infertility in Philadelphia,” at the Old Jewish Arts Center in Philadelphia. Her work will be displayed there until Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Photos, costumes and a video of her dance work “Rest in Pieces,” which portrays the experience of miscarrying a child, are on display as a part of a larger project. “Cradling Creativity” is meant to bring awareness to the realities, pains and joys of living with infertility, as well as breaking the silence around reproductive grief and pushing back on common misconceptions about infertility.
This exhibit is scheduled to travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, and Los Angeles, California in 2018.
