BLOOMSBURG— Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania College of Liberal Arts recognized the Dean’s Salute to Excellence Award recipients at the college-wide meeting on Friday, Sept. 15.
At the meeting, Dr. Patricia Dorame-Holoviak, associate professor of Spanish, and Dr. Mary Bernath, associate professor of English, received the Dean’s Salute to Excellence Award for their achievements in BU’s departments of Languages and Cultures and department of English.
BU also recognized college staff and community partners at the college-wide meeting. Joyce Bielen, secretary for the political science and philosophy departments, was recognized for her dedication to the college and university community, and Tim Wagner, owner of Wagner’s Trophies, was recognized for his dedication to the university’s Anchor Program.
Dean Hsien-Tung Liu began the Dean’s Salute to Excellence in 1998 to honor the efforts and achievements of BU faculty members. The Dean’s Salute to Excellence aims to recognize distinction in the areas of teaching and professional responsibilities, scholarship and service.
Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 9,600 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of Education, Business, Liberal Arts and Science and Technology.
