BLOOMSBURG — Have a conversation with Marc Lamont Hill, host of BET News and a political contributor for CNN, Saturday, Feb. 20, at 11:30 a.m. in the Kehr Union Ballroom at Bloomsburg University. The presentation is part of BU’s annual Sankofa Conference.
Hill, also a professor of African American studies at Morehouse College, previously held positions at Columbia and Temple universities. He has been a social justice activist and organizer since his youth in Philadelphia.
Hill is the founder and a board member of My5th, a non-profit organization that educates youth about their legal rights. He also works closely with the ACLU Drug Reform Project, focusing on drug informant policy. In 2011, Ebony Magazine named him one of America’s 100 most influential black leaders.
Hill’s presentation is open to the public free of charge. The day-long Sankofa Conference is open to BU students, with registration at the Office of Multicultural Affairs required by Feb. 15.
