Campus goes ‘50 Shades of Green’

For Immediate Release:  April 13, 2015

BLOOMSBURG — To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, Bloomsburg University’s students, faculty and staff, will join with organizations from the community to show how sustainability matters through eco-friendly activities and demonstrations. Participants are encouraged to follow this year’s theme, “50 Shades of Green,” by wearing their favorite green clothing.

Scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the free event will be located near the Andruss Library and Academic Quad and is open to the public. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Kehr Union Ballroom.

During the event, participants can engage in free Earth Day activities such as a #BU50shadesofgreen coupon scavenger hunt, human zorb bowling, recyclable basketball, do-it-yourself green crafts, recycling extravaganza, and carbon sock demonstration. Snacks and giveaways will also be part of the event.

Earth Day at BU is sponsored by the Green Campus Initiative and coordinated by the Communication Studies Leadership and Event Planning classes.
