BLOOMSBURG — Bloomsburg University's fall 2011 graduates are winding down their last semester.
Commencement ceremonies will be held for graduate students on Friday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m.; ceremonies for undergraduate students will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. for the colleges of Liberal Arts and Education and 2:30 p.m. for the colleges of Business and Science and Technology.
All ceremonies will be held in the Haas Center for the Arts, Mitrani Hall.
A total of 490 students will receive diplomas - 95 graduate students and 395 undergraduates - including the following top honor graduates, the students who earned the highest grade point average in each college:
- College of Business: Kunal Babariya, Danville, accounting
- College of Education: Nicole May, Yardley, special education/elementary education
- College of Liberal Arts: Kyle Ross, Pen Argyle, psychology major and anthropology minor, and Zachary Pearce, Matamoras, political science
- College of Science and Technology: Everard Riley, Millville, mathematics
BU faculty members Stephen Clickard and Cynthia Surmacz are the speakers for undergraduate commencement.
Clickard, chair of music, theatre and dance, will speak at the 10 a.m. ceremony, and Surmacz, professor of biological and allied health sciences, will give the commencement speech at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
