BLOOMSBURG — Registration is open for a series of hands-on, adventure and education-based summer camps at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s upper campus. Led by BU’s Quest program, youth camps will run Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; two weekend camps for teens 14 to18 years old will be held from Friday evening to Sunday evening.
The following camp sessions are scheduled:
- Anthropology/Archeology Camp — Sponsored by BU’s anthropology department, the camp will be offered one week only, from June 13 to 17, for youth ages 10 to 16.
- Adventure Camps — Designed for adventurous youngsters, the week-long camp will allow students to try a variety of Quest activities. Events include conquering a 50-foot climbing tower and 200-foot zip lines, rafting or kayaking, team building, rock climbing and learning wilderness first aid skills. Sessions from June through August are offered for individual age groups: 6 to 8, 9 to 12 and 13 to 15. Details are listed at Quest’s website, www.buquest.com.
- Teen Weekend Summer Camps — Designed for ages 14 to 18, the camp will focus on backpacking and camping from July 8 to 10 and caving and camping from July 22 to 24.
