BLOOMSBURG—Wood engravings and prints by Pennsylvania artist David Moyer are currently on display in the Haas Gallery of Art at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. David Moyer’s collection, “The Flowering Mind,” will be featured until Sept. 30.
A graduate of the University of Delaware and the Maryland Institute College of Art, Moyer specializes in wood carvings and drawings designed for limited edition manuscripts and books. He is the co-founder of Red Howler Press in Lebanon. According to Moyer’s artist statement, his art is focused on “the relationship of words and visual images.”
Moyer’s art has been exhibited at the New York Public Library, Pennsylvania State University and the University of Delaware. His work has also been displayed at the Society of Wood Engravers annual exhibition in Oxford, England.
The Haas Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 1 to 4 p.m. A reception for Moyer will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a gallery talk at 1 p.m.
